BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS VAR 5% AS is highly effective against feeding larval stages various mosquito species e.g. Aedes, Culex, Anopheles Vectors causing Maleria, Dengue and Chikunguniya etc. BTI is very specific for mosquitoes and black flies and has some toxicity towards certain other depterans (including midges) when community mosquito control is needed to reduce mosquito  borne disease the department of Health favors use of Lavicide application to the breeding source of mosquitoes.
